Thank you for visiting Emma Hart Aesthetics today. It was lovely to see you, and we hope you enjoyed your treatment.
Below are some helpful aftercare guidelines to follow allowing for optimal treatment results
1. Keep it clean. When was the last time you disinfected items you’re in close contact with?
If you’re going to recieve a facial, it’s important to disinfect any objects that could come in to contact with your face afterward, such as pillows or your phone. You don’t want any bacteria transferring onto your face!
- Drink PLENTY of water
Your skin can’t function properly without the water that hydrates it. Plus it can;t absorb all those good-for-it ingredients if your pores are clogged. So, even if you’re uased to replying to a mask or a serum to infuse your skin with life-giving hydration you need to be sure to drink water throughout the day.
- Avoid the sun & wear a high SPF
After your facial it’s best to stay out of the sun for a week post treatment to avoid tanning the skin or causing burning of the skin. Use a hat to protect your face from the sun right after treatment, and always apply sunscreen throughout the day. SPF is key to combating the premature signs of ageing.
- Avoid using active ingredients for 48 hours
It’s important to steet clear of active ingredients like alpha hydroxy acids, beta hydroxy acids, and retinol while your skin is still vulnerable. Avoid using any exfoliating cleansers or products during this time. High-impact activities that cause perspiration and sebum can also cause irritation, so it’s best to steet clear of those aswell.
- Avoid heat treatments for 48 hours
As with active ingredients, it is just as important to avoid heat treatments post treatment such as steam rooms, saunas, swimming and intense workouts to avoid irritation of the skin.
- How often should you be having facials?
