Carboxytherapy is treatment for cellulite, hair rejuvenation, stretch marks and dark under-eye circles.

stretch marks | cellulite | hair rejuvination

Carboxytherapy is a non-surgical cosmetic treatment using small injections of carbon dioxide below the skin into the subcutaneous tissues.

Poor blood circulation is partially responsible for cellulite, stretch marks, and dark under-eye circles. Cells in the body release carbon dioxide as waste. Red blood cells take the oxygen you inhale and carry it to tissues, then pick up carbon dioxide. Eventually, the carbon dioxide is exhaled by the lungs.

We can increase blood circulation to a specific area by injecting carbon dioxide, causing the red blood cells to rush to the area. When the blood cells reach the location, they create an increase in circulation. This works to repair skin elasticity and, in the case of under-eye circles, change pigment to a healthy glow.

what can it treat?

stretch marks

The stretch marks you see on your body are a rupture of dermal collagen. Carboxytherapy creates new collagen, which thickens the skin and improves its appearance.

Carbon dioxide gas can also be injected into fat cells, which causes the cells to burst and be eliminated in the body. Cellulite is caused when subcutaneous fat protrudes through the skin. Several studies have found that carboxytherapy is both safe effective when used to treat cellulite.

under eye circles

Dark circles under the eyes are usually caused by poor circulation, which creates vascular pooling. Injecting the gas under the eyelid reduces this bluish pooling and replaces it with a blush tone.

Alopecia (hair loss) caused by poor circulation can be treated with carboxytherapy as well. Thinning hair can also be rejuvenated following a course of carboxytherapy.

Carboxytherapy is a non-surgical cosmetic treatment using small injections of carbon dioxide below the skin into the subcutaneous tissues.

Carboxytherapy was first used int the 1930s in a french spa. Doctors used it in warm baths to help with patients with reduced bloody supply to stimulate oxygen. This technique is still used in develpoing countries.

When CO2 is injected subcutaneously, the CO2 immediately diffused at the cutaneous and muscular micrcirculatory level. This promotes the Bohr’s effect, which allows tissues PH to become acidic with even more dissociation of CO2 from the maemaglobin allowing the tissues to become more oxygenated

Dependig on the area treatments range from 30 mintures to 1 hour.

Clients do not suffer from any pain, perhaps a slight scratch when the needle enters but thats it. On areas where the skin is loose you may feel the CO2 tracking under the skin which feels different but not uncomfortable. As we are percing the skin there is risk of bruising but this is minimal however the treated area can be red with slight swelling for a couple of days post treatment.

Clients should expect to see improved appreance of the skin texture and tone in the treated area, brighter under eyes, increased hair growth and smoother skin in areas such as stretch marks and adipose tissue (cellulite)

You can see an immediate improvement in your skin after just one treatment. However we recommend a course of 6 to fully benefit from the wonders of carboxytherapy.

The immediate skin improvements will last for several days, upon a completed course results aer expected to last 6-12 months
