Gel nails use a special polish that’s cured under a UV or LED lamp. They look like regular polish but last much longer — typically 2–3 weeks without chipping, smudging, or dullness. Perfect for busy women who want beautiful nails without the upkeep.
On average, gel nails last around 2–3 weeks, depending on your nail growth and lifestyle. You’ll notice regrowth before you see any chips — making them ideal for holidays, events, or everyday polish that keeps up with your schedule.
Not when applied and removed professionally. At Emma Hart Aesthetics, we’re careful to protect the natural nail underneath. We never rush removal or use aggressive filing. In fact, many of our clients find their nails grow stronger with regular, well-managed gel treatments.
Gel polish is perfect for colour and shine, but if your nails are weak, flaky, or struggle to grow, BIAB (Builder in a Bottle) adds extra strength and structure. It’s thicker and more durable, while still looking beautifully natural.
It’s possible, but we don’t recommend it. Picking or peeling gel can damage your natural nails. We offer safe, gentle removal with every appointment and can advise you on how to maintain your nails in between visits.
